Dolphins Respond With 38-10 Win
The Dan Campbell Era Begins With An Inspired Effort
Wow. This is the Miami Dolphins team fans have been waiting for all season long. An inspired effort by players and coaches alike gave the Dolphins their most complete and dominant performance of the year. With a balanced attack on offense and an angry defense Miami players answered the call to do their part in turning around the fortunes of the franchise. This win was everything that the prior games have not been. Miami ran the ball successfully with Lamar Miller going over 100 yards. They threw successfully with Tannehill throwing for 266 yards and 2 TDs and the defense was ferocious. 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 interceptions. The payers played inspired and perhaps the most encouraging thing was to see the aggressive and diverse play calling. There is no doubt that this new coaching staff is taking a different approach to the game. Look no further than the last TD to Jordan Cameron with 1:54 left in the game. Philbin and many coaches would have most certainly dialed up a run to take more time off of the clock and perhaps kicked the field goal. Instead, the coaches dial up a pass to the end zone for the TD and make the statement that this team will be expected to play hard until the end. And that mentality was absorbed by the men on the field and you could see the difference in their focus and effort. How great was it to see Coach Campbell meeting his players as they came off the field with helmet slaps and encouragement? A level of emotion not seen ever in the Philbin era.
It is only one win and the team has to prove they can sustain it and stand toe to toe with some much better competition as the schedule gets harder and harder. But the Dan Campbell era began with even greater results then we could have imagined.
